Kathi Schulz
ABOUT
Kathi Schulz is a painter and multimedia artist. She holds an MFA and Meisterschülerin-award from Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. She currently studies Art and Technology and Integrated Media at the California Institute of the Arts.
Schulz’s work explores concepts of realities, perception, and consciousness embedded in and emerging from digitality. Within her work she creates a space in which technology is not separate from but a part of us, allowing a critical and more generative perspective, unfolding new possibilities and means of perception. By transferring aesthetic approaches from analog to digital media and vice versa her work investigates the disparities and entanglements of actual and virtual spaces. Schulz works in a variety of media such as painting, installations, Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, video, and sound.
