ABOUT

Martina’s artistic practice explore the mechanics of embodiment in digital and extended realities, and the hybrid, chimeric nature of the contemporary self. At the core, lies the figuration of a hybrid, shapeshifting selfhood that embraces fragmentation, multiplicity, glitches, and the poetics of the in-between.

Since 2019, she has been curating online and AFK exhibitions and as of 2020, she is Vice Director and Curator at the CIVA Festival for New Media Art as well as Head of Extended Reality and Curator at the platform for immersive experiences “Area for Virtual Art“ on behalf of sound:frame.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, both online and in physical spaces, including Francisco Carolinum Linz (AT), MAK – Museum of Applied Arts Vienna (AT), NRW-Forum Düsseldorf (DE), Les Rencontres d’Arles (FR), Grey Area (USA), Upstream Gallery (NL), Kunstraum Niederoesterreich (AT), Epoch Gallery (USA), FILE Festival (BR), Blanc Art Space (CN), WRO Biennale (PL), Galeria 17 (XK), HeK – House of Electronic Arts (CH).
